Seven Stanzas: Ancient Egyptian Love Songs

A set of seven poems from Late Ramesside Egypt depicting the unattainable love between two nondescript characters. This vague, imprint-able text provides ample opportunity for exploration of my cultural, musical heritage, and deeply challenges me to integrate both my distance and proximity to these things as a second generation Copt. Recordings from my childhood, musical elements from Egyptian classical music, Egyptian folk music, and Coptic liturgical music, all populate this work's sound world.
