Inspired by a painting of the same name by the Korean artist Song Su Nam, this piece aims to dissolve and intensify the traditional musical elements which serve as building blocks of this composition throughout. These liminal moments of music are intended to carry the listener to new areas without clear delineation between sections. Song Su Nam’s painting compels us with subtle variations in tone color with only a single color of ink wash, connecting the observer to a deeply spiritual and natural place. This piece aims to achieve a similar effect.
